WHAT IS REGRESSION?
Regression is a term in
Psychology for going backward in time. We can experience forms of Regression
through Hypnosis, Meditation, Deja vu and Dreams. We can experience memories
from our current life or past lives. However, what is “remembered” during a
current life or past life regression may not be something that actually
happened. The mind has a way of creating its own answers to the problem and
it is possible that your “memory” could simply be your minds interpretation
of the cause of your presenting problem.
There are many theories on
regression for example: Some believe it is a Genetic memory trace in the
unconscious from the past. Some believe it is due to Karmic memory or
reincarnation. Others believe it is a defence mechanism – a dissociative
experience that allows the person to safely confront their problem.
Psychoanalyst Carl Jung believed in the Collective Unconscious, a
depository of instincts and archetypes that go beyond personal experience –a
residue of human evolutionary development we can tap into in certain
conditions. Sigmund Freud called it Repetition compulsion – an irrational
compulsion to repeat some behaviour from the past or relive emotional
experiences from early life.
WHAT IS
PAST LIFE REGRESSION?
Past Life Regression is a
journey into your inner world where you will attempt to enter a previous
existence, Exploring our inner self can be a healing experience, but we
seldom take time to focus inward. This inward journey requires you to be in
a relaxed, calm state of mind.

you to be guided back to the original source of your problem in a relaxed
state in a safe environment.
DO PAST LIVES REALLY EXIST?
We
cannot say whether we have lived before and there is certainly no scientific
proof that we have. However it is difficult to ignore the evidence
supporting past lives especially when young children talk about their past
lives in great detail, or when, following a regression session,
investigations into historical facts and archives show striking similarity
to the client’s past life experience. From ghost stories to Near Death
Experiences, people throughout the ages have always believed that the spirit
lives on after death. However, whether past lives exists or not is quite
irrelevant to the outcome of the therapy.

Regression Therapy includes
tapping into current life memories, or past life experiences which may be
below the level of our conscious awareness. The focus of Regression Therapy
is to discover the origin of the client’s problem. The past can effect our
mental, emotional and physical well-being and chronic symptoms may be a
result of past trauma where traumatic memories are re-created in our current
life as our Phobias, Fears etc. Regression Therapy gives insight into
present problems by discovering the origin of the problem and re-examining
those past experiences with the purpose of cleansing, reprogramming and goal
setting. Regression Therapy reaches further and heals deeper at physical,
emotional, mental and spiritual levels than most other therapeutic
approaches

Hypnosis
helps access the subconscious mind. Hypnotic trance is where the person is
in a safe relaxed state of focused concentration with no conscious
restrictions of time or place where the client can go back and relive
memories which may be negatively affecting his/her present life and may be

CAN
ANYONE BE REGRESSED?
Most people go very easily into
regression, Although it isn't always possible to experience regression on
your first visit to a therapist. There are various reasons for this and the
main one is being tense and nervous and there are some people who block
themselves. This can be due to fear, strong religious beliefs or, sometimes,
medication.
IS THERE
ANYONE THAT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR REGRESSION THERAPY?
People who
have too many issues going on in their life or who are anxious or stressed
would not be suitable and should be encouraged to deal with problems in
their present life first before regressing to an earlier memory or a past
life.
WHAT IF I CAN’T GO UNDER?
It isn't
necessary to go into a deep trance state to experience regression. It is
necessary to communicate with your therapist throughout the session . If you
can not access a past memory this may be the subconscious protecting you as
you may not be ready for the experience
WHAT
WILL I EXPERIENCE DURING REGRESSION?
Different people experience
regression in different ways. Some people see pictures, like a dream, or
hear sounds or have strong feelings. Most people experience a little bit of
each with one of the senses being the most prominent. You may experience
Past Life Regression as a life story seen from a higher wisdom looking back
at the lessons of that life, or you may experience significant key moments
in that life.
WILL I
REMEMBER EVERYTHING?
You should remember most things
but perhaps not everything, but this is normal and your therapist will have
noted down important statements. It is important to understand that what is
“remembered” during a current or past life regression may not be something
that actually happened. It is possible that it could be your minds
interpretation of the cause of the presenting problem-rather
like a dream – the mind’s way of finding its own answer to the problem.
WILL REGRESSION THERAPY MAKE
ME FEEL BETTER?
Understanding the root of your problem helps to dilute its strength, and
although there is no absolute guarantee that you will feel better most
people do report feeling benefit.
