WHAT IS EFT?

Emotional Freedom Technique or EFT is a method of defusing emotional issues and reducing stress levels. Developed in the USA by Gary Craig it is now becoming more widely used and taught. EFT is simple to learn and use, you can learn how to apply it in a few minutes. It can be used regularly on a self-help basis whenever an emotional issue, fear or phobia occurs in your life.

HOW IS EFT CARRIED OUT?

The way to reduce the emotional sting of many issues is to focus on the problem and summarise it in an affirmation. Then, while keeping the affirmation in mind a series of points on the chest, face and hands are tapped several times, specific eye movements are carried out along with humming and counting. Its simple, quick and very effective, the whole procedure takes around 2 minutes and once learned can be a tool for life.

HOW DOES EFT WORK?

All emotional upsets we experience are stored in memory. When we remember the incident or something similar happens to us the memory and the emotional charge attached to the memory are triggered. This manifests as an interference in the normal energy flow through the body and gives you bad feelings.

EFT works by accessing the energy flow routes (meridians) while the interference is present i.e. while you are thinking of the issue. The tapping and eye movements, humming and counting, all access different areas of the brain and work together to reduce the interference and therefore the bad feelings. Simple issues may be cleared with one round of EFT. More complex ones may require repeat rounds with the issue being dealt with from a different perspective each time. EFT is very effective and most people are amazed at the results.
